How Computer Engineering forfeited their match with Chemical Engineering.

At around 5:30PM on Saturday the 9th of April 2011, the Computer Engineering team was getting ready for the match against the Chemical Engineering team. The Chemical Engineering team was ready and were waiting for the Computer Engineering team to come on the pitch so that the match can start, but the Computer Engineering team refused to come into the pitch as they were complaining that they cannot play the match again as it was getting dark. It ensued into a long argument and at the end they decided to forfeit the match, which made the match a walk over for the Chemical Engineering team. Now the Comp. Engr. team is automatically out of the league since they did not win their first match against the Natural Science team. It only means that only Chem. Engr. and Nat. Sci. that would qualify from the group. It was the hope of all Arch-Engine teams that they will qualify from the group stage of this Final Year League, but as we would have it, Comp. Engr. is already out, remaining only I.C.T, Elect. Engr., Architecture, and Petroleum Engrineering still struggling to qualify from their respective groups, since Mech. Engr., Chem. Engr., and Civil has already qualified for the next round of matches.

Also did a very good jb to keep the ball from going through his wing and made an assit to he first goal with the free kick. An overall good performance for the player.
Baggie                       7.0
Stayed in the middle of the park breaking up play for much of the game. Made a terrible hand ball and was yellow carded as a sign of warning to him. After that, he got his head and did his job well for the later part of the game.
Bone-E                     7.5
Was not fully in the game in the first half of the match due to fatigue, because he had to stay awake over the night to attend to matters arising. During the half time team talk, he gave his team mates a charge that got them fired up for the second half.
Eddie                       6.5
Fitted in well in the mid-field during the first half, but at the commencement of the second half, he could not withstand the flow of the passes coming from the Pet. Engr. team. A fair performance for the player.
Diallo                      6.5
He was not of much importance in the mid-field compared to his performance in the first match, but he did his job well whenever he had the chance with the ball. Not an impressive performance from the player.
Taiwo                     8.0
He played fairly well compared to his performance in the first match against the CMIS team, but was able to register his name on the score sheet by convering the freekick from Madu into a goal. A fair performance for the player.
Jude                       8.5       Top Of the Match
An exceptional performance from the player. Even though he was injured, he still managed to pull through the game and ended up putting his name on the score sheet. He scored a volley from an 18 yard distance. It was a controversial goal.
Petroleum Engineering
Santi                    6.0
Good handling of the ball and he had good control of his area. He cant be blamed for the first goal, but the second goal was his fault, he came out of his line.
Jinadu                 5.5
Had good control of all aerial balls as he never allowed any aerial ball to go past him, but he was poor on ground.
Bernard              5.0
Had a fair performance, but could not press forward to attack, he had to stay back in the defence, but Jude got the better part of him for the second goal.

Made some important clearance at the back and at some point came forward to attack, but his forward runs were of no effect to the attack of the team.
Antai                  5.5
He had a below par performance and his team was hoping he would be their midfield maestro for the match but he could not keep up with the ruggedness of the likes of Baggie and Bone-E.
I.D                      4.5
He could not be found in the game, made a few important tackles in the first half, but could not be found for most part of the second half except for his overhead fly kick which was his highlight of the game.
Noah                  6.0
A co-ordinated performance from the player. He knew when to pass the ball and where to pass it to. He had a very good control of his area and did his job well whenever he got the chance to.
Arus                   4.0       Flop of the Match
He was very indecisive throughout the match, he did not know what to do when he had the chance with the ball. He always lost possession of the ball to his opponents whenever the ball was with him. A below par performance from the player.
Deji                    6.0
Constant running and posed problems for the opponents as he came wide and whenever he passes the ball through the defense. His defensive duties were not bad and ran tirelessly.
S.K                     6.5
Made an exceptional start to the game with the way he assisted the first goal of the game. His physical presence was important, but the service was lacking which limited his impact on the game.
SUBSTITUTES
Anslem               4.5
Quiet after his introduction in the second half as he looked to help his side get back in the game. He failed to change the game play as he wasted the ball with poor service.

Mechanical Engineering Vs Petroleum Engineering.

This would be the second match in this group and, the mech engr. team that was called the underdogs have shown that they have a lot to shown in this tournament, by winning their first match against the CMIS team by 2 goals to nothing.
Now this would be their second match, and a win will mean that they have qualified for the next round of matches with maximum points. The last time these two teams met, the match ended 2 goals to 1 in favor of the Petroleum Engineering team. This time around with the quality of football that the Mech. Engr. team showed through their first game, it is apparent that they intend to revenge what happened to them the last time they met.
The match started at around 4:50PM GMT at the old football pitch opposite Peter hall, and the fans came to watch in their numbers. The CMIS team was supporting the Mech. Engr. team, because a win for the Mech. Engr. team will mean that the second team to qualify from the group will be decided by the match between the CMIS team and the Petroleum Engineering team.
Within minutes of starting the match, a long pass was given by the Pet. Engr. team to their fast paced star striker S.K and he received the pass with a fantastic first touch and pushed the ball past Baggie, and paced after the ball before passing it to Emmanuel wjo was already waiting in the Mech. Engr. team penalty box, on receiving the ball, he slotted it in with just ine touch and it was 1-0 withing the firts few minutes.
The matched continued and the Mech. Engr. team started attacking the Pet. Engr. team, and they were able to keep the Pet. Engr. team in their half for another 20 minutes. At one point, the ball was with Taiwo, and Jude was calling for the ball, because he was free and he wanted Taiwo to give him the ball, but Taiwo did not and Jude felt that he had not done well by losing possession of the ball to the Pet. Engr. Player. Once again, the Pet. Engr. team broke away with a through pass that was iven to S.K and he tried to put the ball into goal but was blocked by a tackle that came from the right back player of the Mech. Engr. team. It was another opportunity for the Pet. Engr. team to score another goal, but they could not turn the chance into goal.
The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the Pet. Engr. team. The Mech. Engr. team came out of the pitch to receive their team talk from their different coaches, who had a lot to say about how the first half was and what they wanted to see in the second half. The Pet. Engr. team on the other hand were happy that they were leading with a goal and they told their players to defend well and that they should try to use counter attack on the Mech. Engr. team.
The  Secong half started and the tempo of the game changed from the very minute the second half started. The Mech. Engr. team started attacking the Pet Engr. team with much tenacity and the Pet. Engr. defence had a lot of work to do to keep the ball out of there penalty box.
Just about fifteen minutes into the secong half, the Mech. Engr. team was awarded a free kick from the left flank and the Mech. Engr. left back was given the chance to convert it to goal. He curved the ball to the left hand side of the post where Taiwo was waiting for the ball to come his way and when the ball got to him, he jumped up and nodded the ball into the net. The whole stand of the Mech. Engr. fans was in total disarray and they were all filled with joy, they ran into the pitch to celebrate with Taiwo.
The game continued and at a point, there was a hard tackle on S.K near the Mech. Engr team penalty box. He laid there on the floor until the referee had to stop the game of play and until the phiso came to attend to him. After a while he stood up and continued playing. Then some five minutes later, Jude got a pass from the midfield and jogged the ball up before blasting it into the net in a controversial manner. It was not certain to some of the players if the ball actually entered the net or if it went over it but according to the goal line referees, they confirmed that it was a goal. That goal made the scoreline 2-1. This will be jude's first goal in eigth matches that we have played and the whole team plus the supporters club was happy that he scored the goal in good fashion. At some point the ball was kicked from the left back into the midfield where Baggie was waiting to receive the ball but, there was a Pet Engr. player wrestling the ball with him and he slapped the ball with his hand and was given a yellow card for the offense.
There were so many offense's during the game of play that the referee ignored, some to the advantage of the Pet. Engr. team and some to the advantage of the Mech Engr. team. At the end of the match, there was soo much aguement about the match and about some decisions the referee made in the course of the game. Now the Mech Engr. team has qualified with maximum points and the last match in the group between CMIS and Pet. Engr. will determine the second team to qualify to the next round with the Mech Engr. team. A win for CMIS means they qualify with Mech. Engr. while a win for Pet. Engr. means they will be the team to qualify with Mech. Engr. from that group. But, a draw from that match will be to the favor of the Pet. Engr. team, beacause they have goal difference advantage over the CMIS team. Now we look forward to that match to know who qualifies out of that group with the Mech. Engr. team.
